Hey, I’m Fatimah. I’m a designer, who likes to write and occasionally I still make things with my hands. I got into design by way of skate culture, as a young kid collecting copies of Thrasher, Rad, and Transworld, I became fascinated by artists like Jim Philips, Martin Ander, and Mark Gonsalves. The skate world exposed me to the political art world, and artists like Shepard Fairey and Jenny Holzer continued to foster within me a quiet distaste for bureaucracy, pushing me to desire better systems, and ultimately leading me to focus on a career trajectory that tackled complexity through design.
These days I sit at the intersection of design and technology and leverage words to develop projects ranging from brand systems and web experiences to interactive data visualizations and physical product designs.
